I don't normally take time to write letters of appreciation to professionals, since I believe high standards should be the norm for professionals. Even against this standard, I think Seth Latham is exceptional. I'm sure you've already figured this out on your own, but allow me to elaborate.

In early August I accepted the position of Vice President, Governmental Affairs for Atlanta-based New World Television just two months before my wife and I were due for our second child. I was living in the Washington, D.C. area, and I knew I had to move to Atlanta and get settled quickly. That night I logged onto the internet, figuring that at least several forward-thinking firms would have posted real estate listings. Within moments I found Seth's home page - the only useful information about the Atlanta real estate market that I was able to find. I filled out Seth's nicely designed form and within 12 hours he responded with lots of useful information about Atlanta generally and at least a half dozen excellent listings, with helpful comments from Seth, meeting all of my search criteria. I am surprised no one else has made such effective and helpful use of the internet to market real estate.

Still, I was wary of selecting a real estate agent based only on an internet connection. I interviewed and spent time with two other very experienced agents, but after spending one afternoon with Seth he was the clear choice. I found him exceptional in helping me make the most efficient use of my very limited time. He zeroed right in on my needs and tastes and represented my interests with engaging enthusiasm. His background research was awesome and always professionally presented. He is also extremely knowledgeable about house construction methods, practical design of living space, and various home systems and amenities. With that experience he was able to identify many features of homes, both positive and negative, that many other agents would have overlooked.

I should also add that your in-house mortgage brokerage has, to date, provided me with outstanding service - like Seth, above and beyond the call and a clear choice over the competition.

You should also know that Seth did not solicit this letter. I asked him for your name and address because just as I think excellent service should be expected, I believe that outstanding service ought to be acknowledged.

I was told early in my career that a professional is like a thermostat - the job is to keep the client comfortable. By that measure, Seth is a true professional. I eagerly offer him my highest recommendation.

It is not often that one is fortunate enough to deal with such a thoroughly competent professional as one of your realtors, Seth Latham. My husband and I cannot sing his praises loudly enough, and we felt you should know, if you didn't already, what a gem you have in your office!

My company is transferring me to our Atlanta office, which has all come about very quickly. We had just a few days before our plane left to find a realtor, as my company does not have an "official" broker it uses. My husband, an IBM engineer, was 'cruising' through the Atlanta Journal Constitution's ads, looking for homes and found Seth's webpage. My husband sent him a note and within 24 hours, Seth had responded both electronically and by voice. He listened to what we wanted, gave us excellent advice about the various areas, and seemed "sympatico." When we arrived at our hotel, there was a delightful welcome note from him upon check-in. We already felt at home!

It would be hard to name anyone who does his homework more thoughtfully than Seth; is consistently cheerful and upbeat (with a great sense of humor to boot!), courteous timely, patient (showing us close to 75 homes in 4 days with a 3-year-old in tow!); and can negotiate an elephant out of a tin can. We always felt Seth was not only our ally, but our friend, and I know we will continue to be friends after this ordeal/move is over. He has consistently gone the extra mile - i.e., finding me temporary housing until we can sell our house here, starting a newspaper subscription for us, identifying tradespeople we need (a godsend for those from out-of-state), etc.

We were working with an agent from another broker too, "trading off" days with Seth. But in the end, we felt like Seth had gone "above and beyond." He cared, he listened, he's #A-1 QUALITY people and we were just thrilled to have worked with him. Once I get there, I will recommend him to everyone I meet who is considering a move. I honestly have never before written a letter about service I've received but I must write about the experience I had buying my house.

I have bought 3 homes in my life so far but this time was different from all the rest. First there was that wonderful innovation you had called the Homescope. What used to take weeks, took only hours with the Homescope. In 2 hours, we went through 142 listings and narrowed them down to about 30!
